New role... new blog
As you'll have perhaps seen from a post at the end of April, I'm going to be working as the Vice President: Education of the RGS from June.
As with any major project that I get involved with, or new role, I've started a new blog. This will track my work over the coming years, and also publicise relevant RGS-IBG activity.
When I started out on my GA Presidential journey, I started a blog which now has over 850 posts on it, and includes a biography of every GA President to date as well as much more on the history of the Association and its activities.
No. 1 Kensington Gore is known as "the Home of Geography".
I've taken that as the name for my new blog, as I'll be visiting more regularly than I have for a few years.
Lowther Lodge has been the home of the Royal Geographical Society for over 100 years.
You can visit the new blog here.

400 posts
This is one of my lesser fringe blogs, but always good to reach a bit of a milestone. Thanks for reading. If you're visiting here for the first time, please check out my main blog over at LivingGeography - you've got a lot to catch up on.

PGCE Geography blog
I had the last session before they finished for the Easter holidays, but still managed to hold their attention I think, although a bottle of Pimms did make an appearance at one point...
One of the colleagues I worked with passed on details of a blog that he had started, and I am happy to share it here. Always good to have another teacher blog, especially from one near the start of their career.
The blog is written by Mike Stevens.
One particularly useful link that I got from this blog was an audio from a lecture by David Campbell on the connections between images and narrative.
I hope that Mike carries on blogging as he starts his new job in September - thanks for sharing !

Posterous Blogging
He was showing the power of Posterous: a blog which I use for my 365 image project.
Joe Dale has now produced an excellent summary of a session that he did on BLOGGING USING POSTEROUS - this post has been updated several times already and provides a lot of ideas.
There are links through to the work of other colleagues, but it demonstrates the power of the immediacy and simplicity of this free tool....
Over to you to come up with your own variation on how to use it...

Day 1 of 365
I've never done one before, mostly because I forget to start one on the 1st of January, and then decide to wait until the next time round.
This year I remembered...
Different people post different things: images, videos, song lyrics, poems, quotations... you can basically add what you want.
I'm going to use POSTEROUS for my 365 as I can post to it from my iPhone using the POSTEROUS app, but also have the option to e-mail posts to the blog as well. Never used it for more than the odd blog post either...
Visit the 2011x365 BLOG HERE, and feel free to subscribe...
This could be a good discipline for teachers to take a moment each day to reflect and share something with colleagues...
